“My friends like to dance” was
an understatement by Dana about her and David’s wedding reception at Brier
Creek Country Club! What a fun night and
awesome group to play for!!
Dana & David had their
wedding ceremony earlier in the day at St Michael’s the Archangel. Guests had a couple hours to chill, then came
to Brier Creek for the reception. The
cocktail hour was held in Palmers cove and guests enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres
and drinks.
After the cocktail hour the
150 guests made their way to the other side of the building for dinner and
dancing. I lined the wedding party up
and introduced them into the room where they lined up in front of my
table. Dana & David came in for
their first dance and parents dances followed by a welcome by Dana’s father and
a blessing. The salads and entrees came
out and I played a mix of standards, soft rock and classic soul.
After dinner we had toasts
and cake cutting and I invited the married couples to join Dana and David for a
“longest married couple” dance. The
floor opened to everyone after that with some Motown and top 40 that filled it
for the next 2 hours. I even played “The Perculator” for their friend Nick to
show his moves.
We ended the night with a
huge sing-a-long to “Sweet Caroline” and a sparkler exit from the front of the
building.
This was one of my favorite
weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!
