Janet & Mike’s sports themed wedding at The Stockroom

Janet and Mike LOVE sports!  Especially The Baltimore Ravens & Orioles and Mike loves the ECU pirates.  Their reception tables at The Stockroom were numbered after jersey numbers of Ravens players and there was even a letter from the Ravens and a yearbook they used for their guestbook.  So great!

After a ceremony at The Rose Garden that the rain held off just long enough for, guests made their way to The Stockroom for cocktails, dinner and dancing.  I was thrilled to be working with Alexandra from The Stockroom, Rebecca and Annie from Red Bridge Photography, planner Katy Weaver, florist Fresh Affairs and catering by Rocky Top!  As guests arrived for the cocktail hour I had a mix of country, indie rock, soft rock and classic soul playing for the 130 guests.

Janet and Mike arrived and it was time for their introductions.  I introduced their parents to “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns ‘N’ Roses and Janet and Mike to “Turn Down For What”.  Ha ha…  They made their way through the crowd to the floor for their now second dance to “Mean To Me” by Brett Eldredge.  The guests took their seats and Janet’s father John welcomed everyone.  The plated salads came out and the food stations opened shortly.  During dinner I continued the same style playlist as cocktails.

After dinner, they had a cupcake cutting to “How Sweet It Is” and Mike joined his mother on the floor for their dance to “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty. Janet and her father came to the floor next for their dance.  It started out with “What A Wonderful World” for a minute and then into the Orioles theme.  From nowhere guests joined them on the floor with Orioles towels, hats and even a jersey with her new name on it.  It was awesome and caught everyone off guard!

I opened the floor after that with some Motown and filled it for the next 3 hours.  Guests danced to everything including oldies, 70’s and 80’s, current dance hits, some 2000’s hip hop and even some indie rock dance music.  What a fun crowd to DJ for!  I even saw Janet’s grandmother dancing to “Build Me Up Buttercup”.  The night ended with “Purple Rain” and “Time Of My Life” from Dirty Dancing and a glow stick exit.  Thank you so much Janet and Mike and congratularions!
