Christy and David chose the beautiful Highgrove Estates in Fuquay-Varina for
their ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and I provided music for all. The outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour could
not have had more perfect temperature. A
little cloudy, but what ya gonna do?
lol. Guests arrived to Highgrove
and I had some light piano based classical covers of pop songs playing. The ceremony was about to begin with pastor
Copeland and guests found their seats with a huge pond and trees in the
background. Christy’s Grandparents
entered to “Through The Years”, both parents to “Slipping Through My Fingers”,
the groomsmen to “All Of Me” and the bridesmaids to “A Thousand Years”, all
piano versions. Christy entered with her
father to “Canon In D”. After a prayed,
a reading and sealing of a time capsule, Christy and David were married and had
their recessional to “The Wedding March”.
Guests made their way to the outdoor bar area for cocktails and
appetizers while I had a mix of standards playing as Christy, David and the
wedding party had pictures taken all over the property. It was time for the reception to start and I
invited all the guests into the ballroom with floral arrangements by Flowers On Broad. I introduced the wedding party to Jimi
Hendrix “Purple Haze” and Christy and David had their first dance to Michael
Buble’s “Call Me Irresponsible”. It was
so sweet to see them singing it to each other.
The wedding party took their seats and Christy’s father said a heart
felt welcome that included him not losing a daughter but, “gaining 2
bedrooms”.. LOL Classic ! After a blessing by Pastor Copeland, the family style
dinner came out and I had a mix of standards, soft rock and R&B playing.
After dinner and a couple toasts, we had the Sweet Memories cake cutting to
Michael Buble’s “Nice ‘N’ Easy” and the dessert bar and coffee station opened
in the house as well as the Shutter Booth
photo booth. Christy met her father on
the dance floor for their dance to “My Girl” and David escorted his mother to
the floor to dance to Brother IZ’s “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”. I opened the floor to everyone with “Carolina
Girls” and some other beach music and Motown and the floor packed til the end
of the night. I loved seeing Christy’s
Grandparents who have been married 57 years dancing with everyone to “I Wanna
Dance With Somebody” and “Dynamite”. Ha
ha… I even played “Sweet Home Alabama” because Lynyrd Skynyrd was David’s first
concert.
The night came to an end with some sings along songs and
finally Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” and I invited everyone to the front of the
house for their sparkler exit. I can’t
wait to see pics from photographer Jessie Felix.
Thank you so much Randy! It was such a pleasure getting to work with you last night! We had such a blast. I Hope to work with you again in the future!
