I loved playing for this
group so much!! They came there to party
and that’s what they did!!
As guests arrived for the
ceremony at Melrose
Knitting Mill located above Babylon
Restaurant in Raleigh they were welcomed by the wonderful
sounds of Udeshi playing violin. They
took their seats and the ceremony started.
As the wedding party and Erin came down the aisle Alisa sang and played
piano. What a beautiful voice!!
After the ceremony guests
made their way outside to the pool area for cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres
while the staff and I got the room ready for the reception.
After the cocktail hour
guests made their way back up to the ballroom for dinner and dancing. I introduced the wedding party and Erin &
John Aaron came in for their first dance that started out with “Mirrors” for a
minute, then into “Tatted Up (Remix)” that had the wedding party join John
Aaron and his tatted up wife that has 2 of the most beautifully done sleeves I
have seen! After that they had parents
dances and a blessing by minister Jason Gore.
The buffet opened and I played a mix of standards, soft rock, country
and classic soul.
After dinner we had toasts
and the cake cutting then opened the floor with some beach and Motown that
filled it with young and old. We paused
briefly for the bouquet toss to “Move” by Ludacris, then back to dancing to
hip-hop and top 40 til the end of the night and a sparkler exit
This was one of my favorite
weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!
