Breanna and Paul had both ceremony and reception on the
grounds of The Fearrington. The reception was held in the open-air
pavilion known as The Garden Terrace.
The cocktail hour was held outside on the patio in front of the terrace
and I had a classic rock mix playing. After a few pics were taken by
photographer Nick Pirinio, Breanna and Paul
and the wedding party were ready to be introduced to “Signed, Sealed,
Delivered” and join their guests during the remainder of the cocktail
hour. As the cocktail hour wound down I
had guests come inside to their seats and the roaring fire in the fireplace.
After all the guests found their seats, Breanna’s Father welcomed
everyone and Paul’s best man/brother made a very touching toast. The 50 guests
made their way through the buffet and I continued a classic rock music mix. As
dinner ended, Breanna and Paul had their first dance to “Wonderful Tonight”,
Breanna danced with her Father to “What A Wonderful World” and Paul danced with
his Mother to a shortened edit of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man”. I opened the floor to some oldies and Motown
and guests started dancing. After some
70’s and 80’s and a couple slow songs we had the Fearrington’s own Michelle
Huckleberry cake cutting to “How Sweet It Is”. I opened the floor again with
some current dance music and more 80’s and the requests started coming. I couldn’t believe the dance floor stayed
busy for 2 ½ hours!
Some great moments for me were Paul dancing with his Grandmother
to “Unchained melody”, best man Tim’s dedication to “Uncle Jim” to “Raise Your
Glass” by Pink and Paul’s Mother doing the bump to “Blurred Lines” ha ha..
classic!
The bus for the guests arrived and guests filled mason jars
with candy from the candy bar as Breanna and Paul made their exit to sparklers. What a fun group and I’m glad I was able to
meet everyone and play for them.
