I was so happy for Carla and Linda and for their wedding day!  After 23 years together, they were finally getting married!!!

The wedding ceremony was held on the side lawn of the Merrimon-Wynne and I provided mics and music for the ceremony.  After a short ceremony with a couple readings, the guests made their way into the house for cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres.  They had some classic jazz playing in the house.

After the cocktail hour, the girls from Viva L’Event invited guests into the carriage house where I was for the dinner and the rest of the wedding reception.  I introduced Carla & Linda and they came right to the dance floor for their first dance (well, second.  They danced to “I Choose you” after they came in for a few seconds).  After their dance they welcomed everyone, their minister Nancy blessed the meal and Beau described the dinner that was coming.  During dinner I had a mix of classic soul, standards and soft rock playing.

After dinner we had the toasts and cake cutting and opened the floor with “Build Me Up Buttercup” that brought young and old out. After that song a guest took the mic and told the story of how they met in a club with Linda singing “I’m Gonna Get You Baby” by Bizarre Inc. to Carla from across the room.  So, I had to play that and it filled the floor again!  For the next 2 hours I played lots of 80’s and 90’s, a few slow songs and some current dance music until their last dance with everyone.  I invited the guests to the front of the house for a sparkler exit and Carla and Linda had a private dance to Madonna’s “Rain” with just them in the room.  It was so sweet!!!

This was one of my favorite weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!

Thank you again
