Smith/Hackler wedding at Prestonwood Country Club on October 4, 2013

Tara & Joseph had their cocktail hour and reception at the beautiful Prestonwood Country Club on Friday October 4th.  Tara had been in two friends wedding that I had DJ’d and had a blast at both, so knew we were a great fit.  I had the privilege of working with photographers Jamie and Richie Staggs from Jagg Photography again on this wedding as well as Prestonwood’s own Christine Borneo.  The guests made their way into the large ballroom with it’s huge chandeliers, amazing staircase in the middle of the back wall and wonderful floral arrangements by Tre Bella Floral.  Guests found their seats and it was time for the festivities to begin.  Tara was sooo excited !!

The wedding party entered from the side of the room through 2 large doors to a country song “Friday Night” (get it??) by Eric Paslay and stood at the bottom of the staircase.  Tara and Joseph entered from the top of the staircase and came down to “At Last” and right into “Then (Piano Mix)” By Brad Paisley for their first dance.  It is a beautiful version!  Tara danced with her Father (who is a huge music fan like me) to “Delta” by Crosby, Stills and Nash and Joseph danced with his Mother to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.  Tara’s Father welcomed everyone to the reception and the officiant Carol Goehring said the blessing.  For dinner I played a mix of classic rock.

After dinner one of my past Brides, Lea Coats started the toasts with Tara’s Sister and Maid Of Honor Stephanie.  Joseph’s Best Man Greg finished the toasts and then we had the cake cutting to “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.  I opened the floor with a short Motown set and mixed into “Blurred Lines” and the younger guests filled the floor.  We stopped after a few dance sets for the bouquet toss to Marilyn Monroe’s “Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend” and the garter toss to “Real Good Man” by Tim McGraw.  One of my favorite parts of this wedding was when I played a short Greek music set for Tara and her Mother’s side of the family and the wedding party joined in.  They did a great job keeping up with the Greeks in the circle dance.

The night came to an end with “Hey Pretty Girl” By Kip Moore and they made their exit from the front of Prestonwood with guests throwing gold colored rose petals.  What a fun group and I was so glad to see Tara (and meet Joseph) again and play for her and her friends and family.  Seeing Lea and Brad Coats again was great too!

  1. Randy, the music during the entire wedding was PERFECT and everyone had an absolute blast!! Thank you so much for all of your time that you spent selecting and editing songs, and the meticulous attention you paid to our wishes!! Every single song was played at a perfect time, and the flow of the music shaped the whole night. It's especially cool that you were able to include the Greek dancing songs, because that was one of the funnest parts of the night!! You are awesome!!!!! Tara & Joe
