This was my second wedding in July at Merrimon-Wynne and I loved every minute of it!  This time was for Nancy and Jason and I provided music and mics for the ceremony in the carriage house with pastor Randy Taylor.  The ceremony was so nice and included a couple readings.  Great job as always Randy Taylor!

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the house for cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres while photographer Hooman got some shots and the staff flipped the Carriage House for the reception.

After the cocktail hour the 100+ guests made their way back to the Carriage House that looked beautiful with floral arrangements by Diane at Bowerbird Flowers.  They found their seats and I introduced the wedding party and Nancy & Jason.  They came in and had their first dance and parents dances, then I opened the floor with some Motown and oldies for dancing while the dinner buffet opened in the house.  Guests could either dance or visit the buffet.  What a great idea!

After everyone had eaten I took the dancing up a notch and the floor filled for the next 2 hours.  They danced to line dances (heavily led by Nancy’s little niece) and top 40, 2000’s hits and some 80’s.  We paused briefly for the garter/bouquet tosses and then back to dancing til the end of the night.  We ended the night with “Forever” by Chris Brown and they made their way to the front of the house for a sparkler exit.

 

This was one of my favorite weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!

Colleen and Daniel chose one of my favorite venues for their Wedding Reception.  This was my first of three weddings in a row this month at Merrimon-Wynne and I couldn’t be happier about it!

Their ceremony was held earlier in the day at Sacred Heart Cathedral and guests made their way to Merrimon-Wynne after that.  The cocktail hour was held inside the house with jazz playing and passed hors d’oeuvres by beau Catering coming around.  After the cocktail hour guests made their way to the carriage house for dinner and dancing.

After the introductions the 160 guests took their seats and Colleen’s father welcomed everyone, blessed the meal and presented Daniel with his own Jim Kelly #12 jersey from The Buffalo Bills.  So great!!  I was a huge Bills fan when I lived in New York in the 70’s & 80’s.  Beau then took the mic to tell the guests about the meal and the salads and entrées came out.  During dinner I had a mix of soft rock, classic soul and standards playing including some Phil Collins for Daniel (his favorite).

After dinner we had toasts and then the dances.  Colleen and Daniel had their first dance, Daniel escorted his mother to the floor for their dance and Colleen and her father had their dance that started with “I Loved Her First” for a minute, then I mixed into the Buffalo Bills version of “Shout” that I played twice.  The floor packed instantly with Bills fans in jerseys, a huge Bills towel and screaming & cheering.  This was one of the best father/daughter dances I have witnessed!  After that I opened the floor to everyone with “Cupid Shuffle” and some oldies and top 40 that kept them dancing for the next 2 hours.  The Ice cream bar opened in the pergola and guests continued to dance in the carriage house, eat ice cream and mingle outside in the side lawn.

 

We paused briefly for the bouquet toss to “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” then back to dancing til the end of the night.  The night ended with sing a long songs and a filled dance floor.

This was one of my favorite weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!
