I was really looking forward to DJing Madison & Daniel’s wedding at Prestonwood Country Club!  They are such a nice couple and I really wanted it to be perfect for them!

Their ceremony was held earlier in the day at Resurrection Lutheran Church and the 150 guests made their way to Prestonwood directly after.  They enjoyed cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres in the hallway in front of the ballroom where I was set up. 

The doors to the ballroom opened and guests found their seats.  The wedding party entered from the side hallway and Madison & Daniel from the top of the grand staircase.  They came down the stairs and had their first dance followed by a welcome by Maddie’s father and blessing by Daniel’s father.  The salads and entrees came out and I had a mix of country, rock and classic soul playing.

After dinner we had the parents dances, toasts and cake cutting then opened the floor with some oldies and top 40 that filled it shortly until the end of the night.  We paused briefly for the bouquet toss and then back to dancing.  We ended the night with “Don’t Stop Believin’” and finally a huge circle in the middle of the dance floor with everyone’s arms around each other to the UNC alma mater before a blue & white pom-pom exit from the front of the building.

This was one of my favorite weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!

Mary & Caleb’s Wedding at The Bridge Club in Raleigh NC

I was really excited to play for Mary and Caleb’s wedding!  When I initially met them at Morning Times, I knew we would be a great fit.  Their musical taste is great and I love that about them! AND, I was excited to play my first wedding at Ashley Christensen’s new Bride Club and work with one of my fav photographers, Martha Manning (Martha, Martha, Martha!! LOL)!

The ceremony was held earlier in the day at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  After the ceremony, guests toured downtown Raleigh or just rested a little before heading over to The Bridge Club for the reception a couple hours later.  The cocktail hour was held on the 2^nd floor and I had a mix of standards playing with some classic rock and bluegrass mixed in.  The 100 guests enjoyed delicious passed hors d’oeuvres and drinks and Mary & Caleb and the wedding party joined them shortly.  They were introduced into the room and joined the guests until it was time to make their way up to the 3^rd floor for dinner.  During dinner I had the same playlist playing.

After dinner we had the toasts and cake cutting on the 3^rd floor, then I invited guests back to the 2^nd floor for dancing.  When everyone was back on the 2^nd floor Mary and Caleb had their first dance and I opened the floor to everyone with some Motown and top 40 that filled it instantly.  We paused after a little while for the parents dances, then back to dancing until the end of the night.  We ended with “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley (one of my favorite songs ever!) and finally a sparkler exit from the first floor.  Then, guests came back in to dance for another 30 minutes.

 

This was one of my favorite weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!

What a beautiful wedding with so many unique things about it!!  I had an absolute blast and loved all the vendors I worked with on Maile & Tyler’s wedding!

The wedding ceremony was held in the back of The Umstead Hotel with live musicians providing

music.  After the ceremony, the 80 guests made their way to the back patio of The Umstead for cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres.  During the cocktail hour I had a mix of rock, country, standards and classic soul playing.  Guests even enjoyed the Photo booth inside.

After the cocktail hour the doors to the ballroom opened and I lined the wedding party up with help from Kelley Anna and Amanda and got them ready for their introduction.  I introduced the wedding party into the room and Maile & Tyler came in for their awesome first dance.  Their first dance started with “This Life” by Ryan Huston for a minute, then into “Time Of My Life” from Dirty Dancing for another minute.  As soon Tyler did “the lift”.. a flash mob hit the floor and I mixed into “The Time (Dirty Bit)” by The Black Eyed Peas that caught everyone off guard, especially Tyler!!  It was fantastic!!! After that Maile’s parents welcomed everyone and the 3 course meal of soup, salad and entrees came out.  Another unique part of the wedding was Maile’s cousin Lisa singing an Jewel song acappella after the salads were done.

 

After dinner we had the cake cutting, toasts and parents dances, then opened the floor with some Motown and top 40 that filled it for the next hour and a half.  Guests dances, had tons of fun in the photo booth and enjoyed the dessert & gelato station. We paused briefly for the bouquet toss, then back to dancing until the end of the night.  After their last song guests made their way back to the back patio for the confetti exit and took a candle as a favor.

This was one of my favorite weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!
