I had not met Amanda and Andy until the day of their wedding.  I had skyped with them for our initial meeting, so was looking forward to meeting them in person and DJing their reception.

After the ceremony guests made their way to the pavilion and patio for cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and the amazing veggie and cheese table.  During the cocktail hour I had a mix of country, soft rock and classic soul playing.  After Warren was done with pics I invited the guests to their seats.  I introduced the wedding party and Amanda & Andy came right in to their first dance followed by a funny & heartfelt welcome by Amanda’s father.  The food stations opened and I continued the same playlist as cocktails.

After dinner they went over to quietly cut the cake then had toasts by the Matron of honor and Best man.  I opened the floor with some beach, Motown and top 40.  We paused briefly for the bouquet and garter tosses, then back to dancing with a everyone doing a train around the pavilion to “Second Line” the traditional Mardi Gras song since Amanda’s parents are from New Orleans.  The night ended with a sparkler exit.

This was one of my favorite weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!

I was so thrilled to DJ for Lauren and Ian’s wedding ceremony and reception at Highgrove!  I was even more thrilled when I say my past Bride & groom Angela & Anthony show up as guests whose wedding I DJ’d 4 years ago and now they have a baby.

The ceremony was held in the back overlooking a lake and the weather was perfect!  I ran minister Barbara Lodge’s mic and she always is the best to work with!  The Grandparents thru the Bridesmaids entered to “A Thousand Years” by The Piano Guys and Lauren entered to “Canon In D”. After the ceremony the wedding party recessed to “Variations on Kanon” by George Winston.  Barbara invited guests to the back patio for cocktails and I had a mix of standards playing.

As the cocktail hour ended guests made their way inside the ballroom for dinner and dancing.  After the wedding party was introduced to “Yeah 3X”, Lauren & Ian had their first dance to “I’ll Be” followed by Ian and his mother’s dance to “The Man You’ve Become”, a welcome by Lauren’s mother and blessing by Ian’s Grandfather.  The buffet opened and I played a mix of country, soft rock and classic soul.

After dinner we had toasts and the cake cutting and then opened the floor with some Motown and top 40.  During the next 2 hours guests danced to oldies, top 40, 80’s and finally an EDM dance party for the last 30 minutes before ending with “Don’t Stop Believin’” and a sparkler exit from the front of the building.

This was one of the most laid-back wedding receptions I have ever done, and Robin and Dan wanted it that way. This was not eithers first wedding, but still as sweet as if it was their first. Both were so excited to be getting married to each other!

The cocktail hour was held on the back patio overlooking the pool with jazz standards playing like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Michael Buble,  My personal favorite style of music.  Robin and Dan joined their 70 guests after some pics were taken by photographer Kelly Sullivan. As the cocktail hour ended guests made their way inside and to their tables with floral arrangements by Sandy M Designs.

Robin and Dan came in to “It Had To Be You” by Harry Connick and right to the floor for their first dance to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri.  Dan then thanked everyone for coming and the food stations opened.  During dinner I had a mix of classic soul, soft rock and standards playing.

After dinner we had the Blue Moon Bakery cake cutting to “Sugar” by Maroon 5 and then opened the floor with some beach music and oldies.  During the night guests danced to line dances, oldies, some 70’s and 80’s and a few ballads.
