Having known and worked with
Nicole for a couple years on weddings I was beyond flattered that she wanted me
to be her DJ! Her and Rob are the nicest
couples and I don’t believe I have met a Bride as excited to get married as
Nicole was.
The ceremony was originally
supposed to be outside on the side lawn, but had to be moved inside of the
carriage house because of rain and thunder, no problem. Nicole had a guitarist from Arioso
Strings playing the music and her father jumped on the
electric piano to play Elton John’s “Your Song” at the beginning of the
ceremony. What a special moment! After a beautiful ceremony by Barbara Lodge,
the 100 guests made their way inside the Merrimon-Wynne house for cocktails and
passed hors d’oeuvres with a live bluegrass band that was terrific!
After the cocktail hour guests
made their way back to the Carriage house for dinner and dancing. I introduced
the wedding party and they came in and lined the floor for Nicole & Rob’s
first dance. They danced to the first
verse of the song, then the guests joined them for the next verse. After the second verse I mixed into “My Girl”
and some oldies for 15 minutes, then opened the food stations on the
pergola.
After dinner Nicole and Rob
had the toasts and cake cutting and I opened the floor again with some beach
music and top 40 that kept them dancing until the end of the night. The Freezing Pointe ice cream station on the
side porch was a huge hit as was the beautiful lawn. We ended the night with some EDM per Nicole’s
request and finally some sings a longs to “Piano Man” and “New York, New York”
but I could tell they weren’t ready to end so mixed into “Empire State Of Mind”
by Jay Z and finally “Turn Down For What”.
This was one of my favorite
weddings, and not one I, or the guests, will soon forget!
