Groeschen / Pyper wedding at The Angus Barn on July 4th, 2014

Samantha and Gibson could not have chosen a more perfect day or location for their wedding and 4th of July celebration!  The weather was perfect!  The 140 guests arrived to the Angus Barn Pavilion and made their way down to the lake for the ceremony with live musician providing the background music and floral arrangements by Tre Bella.  After a beautiful service by Minister Joe Coffey, guests made their way back to the pavilion for the cocktail hour while photographers Rob & Amy Allen and videographer Jake Joyner got some group shots.  I had a mix of soft rock and country playing for the cocktail hour.

Pics were done and the wedding party was way ready to get this party going.  I introduced the wedding party to “Let’s Get It Started” and each couple had their own dance coming into the room.  Sam and Gibson came in to a loud roar and right into their first dance to “I’ll Always Be Right There” by Bryan Adams.  The wedding party took their seats after and Sam’s father gave a heart felt welcome and thank you to everyone and Minister Joe Coffey blessed the food.  The food lines opened with the awesome food that The Angus Barn is known for.  Get the ribs.. Just sayin’! For dinner I continued a soft rock & country mix.

After dinner, we had toasts by Sam’s sister and Gibson’s best man, then right into the Simply Cakes cake cutting to “Everything” by Michael Buble.  Sam joined her father for their dance to “My Wish” and Gibson escorted his mother to the floor to dance to “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart.  I then opened the floor with “Shout” that instantly filled the floor and energy went through the roof!  The Brier Creek fireworks started and most of the guests went out to check them out over the lake.  After the fireworks, everyone came back in and was ready to party!  Wow!!!  The floor got packed again and 70’s and current dance music kept them sweating until we stopped briefly for the bouquet toss to “Little White Church” by Little Big Town and the garter toss to “Another One Bites The Dust”.

I opened the floor again with “Wagon Wheel” and it filled til the end of the night.  We ended with “Closing Time” by Semisonic and a sparkler exit.  What a fun night and a great group to play for!  They are the sweetest couple and I loved playing for them!

  1. Randy....... WOW! Not sure how we can express what a wonderful job you did. You exceeded our expectations. As a former Director of Sales & Marketing for Marriott Hotels, I have been involved in/planned hundreds of events of the years. What I have learned is the number one thing that makes a party rock if the music and the "flow" of the evening. I am writing this 3 days after our daughters wedding, and I am still getting messages about what an awesome evening our daughters wedding was. I am pretty sure at one point in the evening I looked around and did not see one person sitting, they were ALL on the dance floor. Please feel free to use us as a reference should you every need one. Thanks the wonderful blog. It truly gave a "snapshot" of our evening that I have printed out for our future memory of the evening.
