The beautiful Arnold Palmer designed Brier Creek CountryClub in Raleigh was the location for Kimberly Richardson and Richard Stolfi’s
wedding ceremony and reception. Kim and
Richard had the “A Team” for this wedding with Megan and Gina from A SouthernSoiree for their planners, Christobal from Azul Photography and the Chris and
Lindsey from Heart Stone Films. Wow !!
The ceremony was in the back courtyard backed by the gulf
course and a beautiful 70 degrees with
not a cloud in the sky. Kim and Richard
chose light classical music for prelude music while the guests arrived. The
Grandparents and Parents came down the isle to “Jesu, Joy of Man’s
Desiring”. The Pastor, Groomsmen and
Bridesmaids came down to The O’Neill Brothers beautiful version of “Canon In D”
played by piano and violin. Kim’s
entrance was to Wagner’s “Here Comes The Bride”. I had a mic set up for a reading during the
service and played 30 seconds of “God Gave Me You” by Blake Shelton during the
unity candle lighting, it was time for Kim and Richard to make their way back
down the isle to the traditional “Wedding March”. The Pastor, Kris Weiss, invited guests to the
cocktail hour in the Brier Creek Club House.
The reception room was draped in sheer while linens along
all the walls and ceiling. What a
beautiful room and a great job by Megan and Gina planning this wedding ! The wedding party entered to Frank Sinatra’s
“Love and Marriage” and Kim and Richard instantly went into their first dance,
the UB40 version of “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. Then, Kim danced with her Grandfather to a
minute of “Isn’t She Lovely” and Richard danced with his Mother to “Through The
Years” by Kenny Rogers. I love that song
!! Then, we had the toasts by the Matron
of Honor, Best Man and Kim’s Mother Rebecca and blessing by Pastor Kris. Dinner
was individually served and music was a mix of soft rock, country and
standards.
The cake cutting was after dinner to “How Sweet It Is” by
James Taylor. The dance floor opened to
beach music and Motown/oldies and filled floor with both older and younger
guests alike. There was a photo booth
and candy bar in the room and a custom cigar roller in the lobby. There was no way anyone got bored at the
wedding reception !
Kim disappeared for a short time to change her dress to a
more appropriate “dancing” dress and the re-entered with Ramsey, the UNC
Tarheel mascot, to the UNC fight song.
Everyone was shocked and Ramsey joined guests on the dance floor for a
while. So great seeing him dancing to
“The Electric Slide”.
Their last song of the night was “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My
Life” from Dirty Dancing and Kim and Richard made their exit to sparklers out
the front door. What a fun wedding
reception and everyone had a blast !

We were completely honored to be part of Megan's team and help transform the ballroom for this wonderful couple. Megan and A Southern Soiree dreamed it up and I am proud that Classic Party Rentals Raleigh was able to help make it a reality for the happy bride and groom.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you had done it James. What a great job !!
