The ceremony was held in the Bryan courtyard of the Inn and
I provided a mic for the minister and Elegant
Ensembles provided strings for music.
The ceremony finished and guests made they way through the Inn to the
Old Well Room for cocktails and appetizers. I had a mix of soft rock and
country playing for the 110 guests. The
doors of the ballroom opened for guests to find their seats and it was time to
introduce the wedding party.
The wedding party entered to “Gonna Make You Sweat” and
Laura & Chris to “Jump Around” since they both went to UNC. There was a huge roar from the crown and
Laura & Chris had their first dance to a shortened edit I did of “Hey Pretty Girl” by Kip
Moore. I love that song!! The wedding
party took their seats and Laura’s Father, Jim, welcomed everyone. I knew he was a little nervous but I was the
only one that could tell. He did a
fantastic job! After Pastor Allison blessed the food we went ahead and did the
cake cutting to “How Sweet It Is”. The
food stations opened and I continued a soft rock & country mix for dinner
music.
After a short time we paused for the bouquet toss to “Man, I
Feel Like A Woman” and garter toss to “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael
Jackson, then back to dancing to some 90’s and current music. One of the best moments of the night was when
all their friends and family surrounded them wearing glow sticks in a circle
singing “When I Die Young” at the top of their lungs. So great! The night ended with Train’s “Marry Me” and
Darius’s cover of “Wagon Wheel” that had everyone singing along. They made their pom-pom exit from the front
of the Inn and called it a night.
What a fun crowd! I
was humbled to be part of 2 fantastic events in 1 day and couldn’t be happier
for Laura and Chris!
