Pannill/Rohrbaugh wedding at Prestonwood Country Club June 29th, 2013

Catherine & Nathaniel had their wedding reception in the beautiful main ballroom at The Prestonwood Country Club.  Photographer Renee Sprink and videographer Scottie Simerly were there to capture every moment that the almost 250 guests had.

The cocktail hour was in the hallway of Prestonwood and I wanted to reflect some of Nathaniel’s music taste, so I played indie rock for the background music.  I think I heard a few guests commenting on how “not typical” the music was in a good way.  Catherine and Nathaniel made it to the reception and it was time for the ballroom to open and the introductions to begin.

The wedding party entered to an instrumental of “Marry You” by Bruno Mars and came in the side hallway.  Catherine & Nathaniel come from the top of the stairs and right into their first dance of “When You Say You Love Me” by Josh Groban.  Catherine absolutely LOVES him!  She danced with her Father to Gary Allan’s “Tough Little Boys” after that, Nathaniel danced with his Mother to “In My Life” by The Beatles and then Catherine surprised her new Father-In-Law with a short dance with him to “We Are Family”.  It was hilarious and he was totally caught off guard.  Her Father then gave a welcome and Nathaniel’s Father gave a touching blessing.  You could tell these families are thrilled to now we connected.  For dinner, I had a mix of standards and Nathaniel’s Indie rock.

After dinner, the toasts started with them Maid Of Honor and Best Man who was also Nathaniel’s Father. The cake cutting followed to “How Sweet It Is” by Michael Buble and then dancing.  To open the dance floor, I started with an anniversary /longest married couple dance to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra followed by a snowball dance to “Give Me Little More Time” by Chairmen Of The Board that filled the floor.  Motown and oldies kept them out there til the bouquet toss to “It’s Raining Men” and Garter toss to “The Mission Impossible Theme”.  I went with current top 40 music for the rest of the night and Catherine, Nathaniel and their friends had a blast.  I even saw Nathaniel dancing !!

Since they were going to Alaska for their honeymoon, their last song was “Ice Ice Baby” and I played a 60’s country song “North To Alaska” by Johnny Horton as they left for their sparkler exit.  What a fun group and their families couldn’t have been nicer!
